This Affects YOU. . . . . . what YOU can do

Loss of thousands of miles of roads and trail should be enough to motivate anyone who uses — or ever plans to use — Eldorado National Forest lands. Most every hiker, hunter, fisherman, and sportsman will be affected, as will casual camping users.

If you recreate on dirt roads, or use them to access your recreation…
YOU LOSE… unless you’re willing to hike in the miles you used to drive.
More than a quarter of the forest is already inaccessible without an extensive hike (wilderness and semi-primitive). Do we need to close more public lands to the public?

It is time for a public protest of the Eldorado National Forest Service. What does NOT protesting say?

This is a call to action. Get up off the couch, build a protest sign and for just 1/2 a day Sunday August 26 between 12:00 and 7:00, go to the Placerville fairgrounds. We’ll direct you from there.

SPREAD THE WORD!!

This event will not be a band of red-necks running amuck — if that’s your plan, then stay home. The protest will be structured and organized, and completed within the laws and licenses already approved by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. Individuals must come to the fairgrounds first, get instructions on where and how to properly protest, then they will get a hand stamp before they begin to protest. Only then will they be sent out in small groups to work specific locations.

There are no entrance fees and parking is $4.00 per car at the fairgrounds.
